With all its wonders, the world we live in has gifted us with the capacity to acknowledge our egotistical and competitive sides. The destructiveness of these is evident for some of us, others have yet to arrive at that conclusion. It's not an easy concept to instate. Seems like pretty much all new mainstream market-place ideas are calibrated, or even aimed at, exacerbating a self-aggrandised view of our single selves, or at best, the single family unit.
Agile Experiments makes the notion of collaboration its core spectacle. The musicians involved in these performances create the strongest and most original moments they can by being open and accepting to one another's contribution to the whole. Each artist takes a stand in the spur of the moment and imprints the air with their own flavour without thinking or planning, just reaching, listening and reacting. It takes a lot of trust. The combination of the dispersing energies, freely influenced but uncluttered by opinions, hits the room and is captured in the most un-intrusive way possible.
Dave De Rose drives this project, combining the musicians, selecting cuts from the improvisations, at times recording, mixing and mastering the audio, ultimately organising the practical distribution of recordings and performances. All these tasks, however, require the input of countless other humans who lend their ears, eyes and ideas out of their own generosity and love for this communal project. These mostly uncredited people greatly influence and ultimately lead the ineffable world of these sonic creations from their temporary existence to your ears.
We hope that you will truly enjoy these minutes of off-the-cuff collaborative creativity.
In good faith and love for people and music,
Agile Experiments London
