When the whole Jazz-fusion ting was breaking Mr. Jamal was up there with the best and took no prisoners. The leading producer/ arrangers of the day always worked with him to keep his jazz vision alive and relevant. All the tracks are culled from different sessions: 4 tracks produced by Richard Evans, 1 by Bones Howe (Bell Records L.A.) and 3 from Jamal himself.
